Has this happened to you, cause I must admit, for all my lifetime I have never received flowers, and especially at work. August 15, 2011 will be one of those days I have to mark down where something special as recieving a bouquet is usually not that special when it is a male giving this to a female, but when it is the other way around, especially to myself, I must write on what it is to feel this experience.

In society, today, or even in history, men are always known to give beautiful flowers to the opposite sex, it is sociallyacceptable, but is it acceptable the other way around? We are bombarded by special event type days, holidays, and commercial like days (ie. Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, etc.) but as the saying goes, it usually is the man, or maybe a woman, who is giving this to the receiving end, which usually is of female gender. So how is one to feel when it does happen the other way? How is the reaction, what should one think?

I was struck with amazement, and dumbfounded to say the least when this arrangement of flowers was brought to my office. To say that this has never happened to me is ‘fact’. I cannot deny, that this is special to me, and at the moment I could not describe what I was feeling inside. One of my friends told me, “now you know how us women feel”. I do not know if I could ever get the sense of how a woman feels on the subject of flowers. The person who gave this to me said I could take this off my ‘bucket list’, I didn’t realize this was ever on my list?

I have to live by my own line sometimes, “expect the unexpected”, cause the unexpected may happen to you.
